In 2008, she was in a car accident that resulted in a T5 complete spinal cord injury. The first year post injury was certainly a struggle, but with strength and the support of her family, she was able to adjust to her new situation and return to work 8 months after the accident. Holly spent the next few years rebuilding her life. She became a homeowner, received a promotion at work, and revived her athletic side by joining a CrossFit gym. By the end of 2016, she began spending her spare time on the tennis court and began playing competitively that next year. She continues to workout with CrossFit three days a week.
Holly has become very active in raising awareness for wheelchair users. Along with being a part of I AM, she also volunteers on the Lehigh Valley Center of Independent Living’s Health and Fitness Taskforce where they complete accessibility surveys for interested recreation facilities and parks.
