My name is Natalie Parrick. I was born on December 14, 1990 in Scranton and raised in Avoca, Pennsylvania with my parents and two sisters. I currently reside in Scranton with my husband, Jacob Parrick. I graduated from Pittston Area High School in 2009 and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Wilke’s University in 2016. I’ve worked in customer service for a DME provider since 2017 and also work weekends as a switchboard operator.
On November 12, 2011 my friend and I were involved in a car accident on the way home from a concert in New York, leaving me with a spinal cord injury at the T5 level. I was seen at West Chester Medical Hospital for a week and then transferred to Allied Services in Scranton to do a month of intensive inpatient rehabilitation followed by outpatient rehabilitation and then a maintenance program. It was through Allied that I met other with spinal cord injuries, and was asked to join the board of directors of Individual Abilities in Motion (IAM) in 2012, where I have been Vice President ever since. I am forever grateful for the love and support I have received and hope to bring that to IAM and its members!
