Don’t miss this chance to get off the beaten path and explore nature with this opportunity to try different adapted off-road equipment! This will be a casual, fun and informative day for all involved. It will also be a nice social event to relax and connect with others. This FREE, family friendly event will be held at Rising Light Ridge. Their beautiful wooded property has a system of trails and paths that we can utilize as well as ample space for other activities like fishing (you must bring your own equipment, but no fishing license is needed). We will be gathering off-road equipment from various sources so that there will be several different types available to try. You can check out some of the cool stuff that you will be able to try below. Bike-On will also be joining us. They will be bringing a variety of different adaptive equipment for people to check out, including various handcycles and recumbent bikes.
RSVP Required by September 10th, 2023. RSVP HERE
Site Disclaimer:
Please remember that this is an outdoor, off-road themed event. Shortly after entering the property, the road turns to compacted crushed stone and travels through the woods and up some hills. However, please know it was driven without any issue in a lower floor, adapted minivan. Parking will be either on compacted stone or grass, and the staging area is hard-packed ground. An accessible port-a-lav and handwashing station will be on site. Please see pictures below for reference.

Want to try a Terrain Hopper? Called by some a mini Land Rover or the ultimate in off-road mobility equipment this electric “vehicle” has 10″ of ground clearance and can climb a nearly 35 degree grade. As an Other Power-Driven Mobility Device (OPDMD), the Terrain Hopper can be used by a mobility impaired person anywhere a pedestrian is allowed. This includes public beaches, state and national parks, hiking trails, and sidewalks. There are different models and options available and the one we will have available can be operated with a joystick just like a powerchair.
What about the Action Trackchair? This device is very much like a powerchair with one exception – the tank style tracks will get you almost anywhere.
